The Aurora 2000 Turbo Kit is the foundation of all ATS turbo systems, designed for everyday driving and extreme towing. The factory turbo charger is small and not designed for extremely heavy towing. When pulling heavy, the factory turbo charger falls short on air flow. The lack of air flow causes high EGT's that are very harmful to your engine. The Aurora 2000 turbine section of the turbo charger is perfectly matched to the volumetrics of the 5.9L Cummins engine. This means there is no waste gate in the turbine housing wasting valuable heat energy developed by the engine. Boost pressures between 32 to 38 PSI are optimal for the Aurora 2000 turbo system. Due to the perfect balance of the Aurora 2000 turbo system there is an increase in economy over the stock turbo charger. Mate the Aurora 2000 turbo charger with the ATS Pulse Flow exhaust manifold and Arc-Flow intake manifold for maximum air flow with minimum air flow restriction.
For maximum power and boost, there is just no substitute for The Aurora 5000 Turbo. The Aurora 5000 utilizes a five inch compressor intake and is capable of boost levels of over 60 PSI. This single turbo production kit is capable of producing power levels of over 600 HP on diesel fuel alone while allowing street driver manners. The Aurora 5000 is a competition turbo and not recommended for heavy towing applications.
The 2000 and 5000 series turbos are designed to attach to the factory cast elbow on 2003 and newer Dodge trucks.
The 2000 series turbos are designed to attach to the factory cast elbow with a band clamp. For improved flow the upgraded four inch exhaust down pipe is recommended. This down pipe attaches directly to the turbo and eliminates the cast elbow and two bolt flange. The 5000 includes the four inch down pipe.
On 24 valve engines, the 2000 series turbos come with a cast elbow to match up with the factory style down pipe. For improved flow the upgraded four inch exhaust down pipe is recommended. The ATS Aurora Twin Turbo Kit is designed to highlight the unique features of both the Aurora 2000 and 5000. Great towing characteristics with competition performance all in one! These two turbos are a great match because they are designed to work together. Each turbo compliments the performance of the other, with the small turbo allowing quick spool up, and the large turbo delivering massive power and low EGTs.
The large turbo features a CNC machined forged aluminum billet compressor wheel, which sustains a very high pressure ratio without high mileage fatigue. The small turbo features an extended tip compressor wheel to generate high boost without high mileage fatigue.
Twin Turbo systems include an ATS Multi-Piece Exhaust Manifold, which has pulse exhaust flow design, helping to spool up the turbocharger sooner with less exhaust backpressure and increased fuel efficiency. This pulse manifold design eliminates the problems with shrinking and breaking, as well as cracking and gasket issues. The ATS twin turbo systems also include the intermediate die-cast manifold with built-in wastegate between the turbos for clean bolt-on performance.
NOTE: Head Studs are recommended whenever generating over 45 pounds of boost.
