There are many diesel performance parts and products out there. Which one is right for you? Huckstorf Diesel has spent lots of time doing the research and testing many products so you don't have to. From diesel performance chips, to tuners, to modules, to intake systems, and exhaust systems we know what works and we will be happy to sort out your options. 1998.5-2002 Dodge 24V Performance
Edge has taken it's proven performance of the Comp box and combined that with their Juice Attitude technology and has come up with a real winner! This will monitor EGT's (exhaust gas temperatures) for you and automatically reduce the power level if they get too hot. It also monitors fuel pressure which has been one of the biggest problems on the 98.5-02 24 valve trucks. If the fuel pressure is too low it will alert you. Another nice feauture is a Turbo timer feature prolongs turbo life by allowing the truck to continue running after shut-off until a predetermined EGT or time is reached. The Juice Attitude combination is packed with features. Edge's Juice controls timing and duration of injector firing for your Dodge truck to deliver maximum performance, improved driveability and better fuel economy.

The Edge Comp module is fully adjustable on the fly and mounts inside the cab. The Comp module maximizes engine efficiency by monitoring the RPM, timing, turbo boost pressure and fueling parameters. The module uses this information to determine and control both fueling and timing enhancements for the Bosch fuel injection pump by connecting directly into the injection pump. The Edge Comp features five power levels with power gains from 40-120 horsepower. Each of the five power levels has an independent five-level adjustable responsiveness setting. The responsiveness settings enable you to dial-in the optimum balance between responsiveness and low boost smoke control. Power Level 2 on the Comp is the same as the EZ; on Power Levels 3-5 additional power is added via the wire tap onto the injection pump. If the pump wire is not attached with a Comp, Levels 2-5 are still operational, but the power gain is not any higher than Level 2. Under this scenario, however, power will come on much earlier in the throttle.
The Power Edge EZ is a plug-in module that maximizes engine efficiency by monitoring the RPM, timing, turbo boost pressure and fueling parameters. The module uses this information to determine and control both fueling and timing enhancements for the Bosch fuel injection pump. This enables smooth and predictable power delivery without compromising integrity. The Edge EZ provides an additional 65-rear wheel horsepower, additional 185 foot pounds of torque and installs in minutes. Simply plug the EZ connectors into the ECM Data Link connection and MAP sensor. It is completely weatherproof and mounts easily under the hood.

Smarty
The Smarty is a downloader that will reprogram the factory computer with different software to make power. The MADS tuning software is known as CaTCHER software.

Software number Zero, Half power About half the power of a stock software. Use it whenever reduced power is desired or when you have to make sure that NO SMOKE is produced.
Software number One, Fuel Saver The Fuel Saver software. Mpg gains vary, in most cases a + 2Mpg has been reported. Please notice that the timing in this software is rather aggressive. HEAVY TOWING is not recommended with this software.
Software number Two,More Fuel and Boost Fooling This software increases the fuel delivered by the ECM and does the boost fooling.
Software number Three, Same as software # 2 but timing has been added.
CaTCHER softwares from number : Four to number Nine, The even numbered softwares are identical to the odd numbered ones, except for the timing. The softwares without added timing are intended for use with timing adding boxes. The power gain at top Rpm with these softwares is almost identical. These softwares differ greatly in HOW they get there. Than higher the software number then more aggressive the throttle response from idle speed up. Aggressive to the point that the softwares Eight and Nine can become difficult to handle on slippery roads. Please be very careful when you use these softwares for the first time! It takes some time to learn how to handle them.
For 1998.5-2002 Cummins engines with the VP44 injection pump there can be additional performance found by "stacking" a programmer like this one with a module type box like the Edge Products listed above. Power increase numbers are not given due to the many combinations of parts available on these trucks. On a stock truck with no modifications this unit will add about 60 HP at the rear wheels. The best modification combined with a CaTCHER is without doubt a good set of injectors. Fuel pump wire tapping boxes WITHOUT added timing (Edge EZ) come next if you're after serious Hp. In that kind of scenario the CaTCHER becomes very noticeable in the top Hp range. People have seen gains of over 75 Hp with that kind of stack above all other stacks they had tried before. Stacking with boxes that add timing (Edge Juice & Comp) can be done with programs without added timing, but the results have not been as great.
