Dodge Cummins Diesel Performance

Huckstorf Diesel Pump & Injector Service is your headquarters for Dodge Diesel Performance! The Cummins diesel engine found in Dodge trucks is very agreeable to performance upgrades. The 5.9 L Cummins engine was designed for larger truck applications and when it was introduced to the pickups the power was turned down to match the abilities of the rest of the trucks powertrain. That leaves us with one heck of a platform to start with and lots of untapped potential to work with! Whether you are looking for Dodge diesel performance chips, Dodge diesel performance tuners, or Dodge diesel performance parts, we have what you need! Huckstorf Diesel Pump & Injector Service offers a wide range of Dodge diesel performance products that target people with a wide range of needs. From those who want to achieve better towing and fuel economy, to high horsepower racing applications and everything in-between.

Dodge trucks are on their fourth generation of Cummins equipped truck styles since the start back in 1989. The 1989 to 1993 truck are known as 1st Generation. These trucks were built as hard core work trucks without many refinements. The Cummins engine was mechanically controlled and ran and drove like a big truck of that time. The second generation came in 1994 when Dodge revolutionized the pickup market with there bold new design. The fuel system for the Cummins engine was upgraded with an inline mechanical injection pump capable of supplying large quantities of fuel for large horsepower applications.  Still today, it is a popular choice for engine swaps and race applications. In late 1998 a 24 valve version of the Cummins engine was introduced with a hybrid mechanical / electronic injection pump known as the VP44. The electronic control allowed the aftermarket the ability to manipulate signals and produce more power via tuners and modules. In 2003 the third generation was born sporting a whole new fuel delivery system known as common rail. The common rail is even more computer controlled and met the stricter emissions standards required for that year.  The fourth generation came with an all new 6.7L Cummins engine.  The 6.7L engine was built to conform to the even higher emission standards dictated for 2007.  Additional emission equipment was added.  A particulate filter was introduced into the exhaust system to collect soot particles.  In order to not over work these filters the programming to make power had to be refined to eliminate as much smoke as possible.

Coose the year range that matches what you are looking for;

1998.5-2002 5.9

2003-2007 5.9L

2007-2009 6.7L
