ATS Aurora 5000 Turbo System for 2004.5 - Early 2006 GM 6.6L LLY Duramax Diesel
The ATS Aurora 5000 turbo system for the 2001-2010 GM Duramax is designed for street performance, racing, daily driving and supporting up to 850 horsepower. It features a billet 71mm compressor wheel. The focus of this turbo is to provide exceptional mid and top end power and the air flow needed to support aftermarket fueling, tuning and engine work. This turbo was a dominant force in the 2.8 inch diesel truck pulling class when that was around. It has proven to be a great street performance turbo also. This turbo is not intended for towing applications. If you do use this turbo while towing and the engine RPM falls below the turbo range, turning off the over drive or down shifting to a lower gear will put the engine back into the proper RPM range for this turbo.
Included in the Aurora 5000 turbo kit is a 4” downpipe, pedestal, turbo, air intake system (AFE-equipped) and all necessary hardware, electronics and oil supply/return fittings and tubes. The 5000 is equipped with journal bearings, a ported compressor housing to reduce turbo “bark” as well as heavy duty silicone boots.
The kit comes backed with a 3 year / 150,000 mile warranty and is designed as a bolt-on application. No cutting, welding or modification is required for installation.
The Aurora 5000 is an extreme high performance turbo charger that is great for added horsepower and torque on your 04.5-05 GM 6.6L Duramax. The 71mm inducer on the turbo is a significant jump in performance over the stock charger. This turbo has the capability to reach over 850hp with supporting fuel modifications and aggressive tuning. The increased air volume will utilize all fuel injected into the cylinder creating a more complete and efficient combustion event. This will result in lower EGTs, high horsepower capabilities, and a more efficient/powerful torque curve.
